That is so interesting…I just use it on my damp skin because I don’t like the feeling of dry, tight skin after washing my face. I wash it and then slather my line up on right after. Maybe my skin is tight after washing because I need more of a thick skin cream? All of the thick, heavy ones make me break out though. Ugh!
I do use vitamin C, I use the skin ceuticals one and it is ridiculously expensive. I probably don’t use enough, the bottle says to use four to five drops and I use one. I try to make the bottle last 6 mo and then grab another one when it is on sale.
I am curious about the “tret on wet”. I have always used my tretinoin on damp skin even though it is supposed to be on dry. I didn’t know that using it on wet skin was a “thing”🤷♀️ I am really into face oils now, have you tried any? I love that you can experiment so much, I breakout super easy so I have to be really careful when trying new things on my skin.
I only knew that people said "don't" use it on damp skin and only use it on dry or it would be too harsh- but then I read about some people (probably the small cult following type of weirdos, like me and maybe you, who like to like movies no one else likes and thus it's called a "cult classic" haha)- but a small group was posting saying that their skin reacted even better when "tret on wet" (I love a good jingle) and I ended up trying it and my skin reacted the same - didnt get worse or have a bad reaction at all- so I've kept up with it! That's so funny/cool you were already naturally doing that, haha. Maybe you started the trend and didn't even know it. I'll admit it: I started to think I could get away with anything and recently started to break out, so pulled it back to what I "know" works for me and it calmed down - fortunately for me. It's still funny though that what my skin likes- really rich creams, for example- is often what other complexions hate? Reverse syndrome or something . I still am yet to find a Vitamin C that I like so don't have that in my routine at all, and most days, do a serum (at best) and then two creams because my skin digs cream. So it's not as convoluted as I make it sound, but I still cant stop myself from researching, trying long time tricks of cool women, and hunting for the next great thing my skin might love you know? I love the research most of all maybe! Maybe one day I'll find a Vit C I like too (for now, they're all too expensive or don't seem worth it. The one kind I loved is too pricey for me but it WAS good- it was the Neutrogena kind that's in little individual capsules. I tried it once during an Amazon drop in price... and now cant let myself spend on it again but- next time I see it half off, I'll know it's worth it!) I wouldn't even worry about Vit C personally because "who needs another thing?" except my dermatologist told me I really SHOULD try to include it because skin cancer runs in my family, runs with me, and runs with certain disease types .... So she said it really is worth it, in rotation with daily SPF? But Im yet to find one I like long term. What about you?
